Keeping students safe from bullying and other forms of physical and emotional abuse have always been a priority for our schools.
Did you know that the Addressing Bullying in Schools Act (NI) 2016 introduces additional statutory responsibilities in this area from 1st September 2021?
If you’re a teacher, school principal or governor then there are some key actions that you need to take to ensure that you are complying with this new legislation. The Education Authority has also introduced guidance that needs to be followed.
The legislation, guidance and supporting materials are all intended to advance the care and the wellbeing of our young people.
There’s a lot to digest though! We want to help, but there’s far too much to cover in one blog post, so……
We’ve created a guide to navigating the wealth of information available, including a 4 Step Action Plan to assist you in finding the resources that you need at each stage in the process.
We only email our subscribers who have consented to hear from us. So, if you would like to receive this guide, then please go to www.cybersyd.net and sign-up.
The CyberSyd Team are here to support the whole school community in keeping students safe from bullying. Please let us know how we can help.
Yours,
Aaron and Simon
